P is for Pumpkin

This week we started our Science unit on pumpkins.  We learned about the growing cycle of a pumpkin. We measured the height and circumference of our class pumpkin and made a pumpkin book. We used our  describing words to write about pumpkins. On Thursday, our class went on a field trip to Thies Pumpkin Patch.

This week we also learned about Mexico. Our class got to celebrate Mexico by doing a Pinata. We had a special guest speaker, Mr. Simpson. He talked to us about his trip to Mexico.

We ended our week with a Fall Party. We had a wonderful time. Thanks to all the parents who were able to come and help with the party.

Fall Is Here

This week we started our science unit on leaves. We read the story Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert. We used the leaves the children gathered on their leaf hunts to create animals. Be sure to look at them in the hallway.

Our guest reader this week was Mrs. Griffin. She read us pumpkin and Halloween books. Please look for the sign up sheet in the hallway to be a guest reader.
